Gluteal augmentation is a procedure to reshape the overall contour of the body. Some people lack the volume in the gluteal region and desire to have a fuller buttock to balance their body shape.
There are two techniques that can be used alone but most commonly combined to achieve a more aesthetic appearance. The “Brazillian Butt Lift” or "Fat Transfer" is a common procedure used to provide volume to the gluteal region. Liposuction is first used to harvest the fat from other areas of the body and carefully purified prior to injecting it into the gluteal region. Not all patients are candidates for this procedure due to the lack of donor fatty tissue.
For those who are not candidates for fat transfer alone, gluteal implants are the only choice to provide the ideal outcome. Fat transfer is used with gluteal implants to further provide a more natural shape to the buttocks. Gluteal augmentation will enhance the curves of the body and make patient’s body proportionate.
What is Buttock Augmentation?
Also known as Gluteoplasty, the augmentation of the buttocks is realized with a gluteal implant. Augmentation with a gluteal implant is the method most effective for enlarging or reshaping the buttocks of both man and woman
The implantation procedure can be performed upon a patient who is either sedated or anaesthetized, either under general anaesthesia or under local anaesthesia.
